Mental health and physical health are connected. Caring for your mental well-being is the same as caring for any part of your body. It makes sense to see a specialized clinical expert.

Getting mental health care should be simple

If you can join a video call, you can join an UpLift session. It’s easy and straightforward to match with a provider, add your insurance, and join your session.

You can use Medicare as your primary insurance or add it as a secondary, so your costs stay low.

What does my insurance cover?

UpLift is in-network with Medicare. Use your insurance to pay for therapy or psychiatry. Most UpLift therapy sessions are $20 or less. What your insurance covers will depend on your specific Medicare plan.

FAQS

What is UpLift?

We’re rethinking mental health to work for everyone. We believe it should be easy for everyone to access care and experience real growth.

UpLift makes it easy for people to pay for therapy and psychiatry sessions using insurance or with cash at an affordable rate.

Which forms of Medicare do you accept?

We accept some forms of Medicare, including Medicare Original and UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, Optum Medicare Advantage, CareFirst Medicare Advantage, and more to come.

I’m new to therapy, how do I get started?

It only takes 5 minutes! Answer a few questions and then we will show you a list of recommended providers based on your goals, schedule, and insurance. You can do it all online yourself or call 888-380-2028, and we'll guide you through the process.

Is online therapy effective?

Studies show that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. Research on outpatient care shows little difference in results, even if experiences are different.

We believe that virtual care has an important role in making therapy more accessible. It can solve problems such as distance, cost, or finding in-network providers who get you. The American Psychological Association has resources if you want to learn more about the effects of virtual care.

Does UpLift offer psychiatric services?

Yes. Our psychiatric providers offer consultations and if needed, prescriptions and medication management.

How much will I pay out of pocket?

UpLift estimates the cost based on your individual health plan and benefits. You will get a summary of your out-of-pocket costs before your session.

Is this a subscription?

No, there are no monthly fees to use UpLift. You can meet with your therapist as often as you need, and you'll only be charged after each session occurs.

What if my therapist isn’t a good fit?

If for any reason you and your therapist don't connect, you can rematch with another therapist—no questions asked. The therapeutic relationship is core to the process so it’s important to find a good fit.

What insurance plans does UpLift accept?

We partner with these plans:

  • Aetna
  • AmeriHealth Caritas DC
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Florida Blue
  • GEHA
  • Optum
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • UMR
  • Medicare

The amount you pay will depend on your specific insurance plan and benefits. If you don’t see your insurance here or you match with a provider who isn’t in your network, we offer reduced self-pay rates.
